Iraq Represented for the First Time at WFME Webinar Series

May 13, 2025 – In a significant milestone for Iraq’s medical education community, Dr. Yusra A.R. Mahmood, President of the National Council for Accreditation of Medical Colleges in Iraq, proudly represented Iraq for the first time in the 4th WFME Recognition Webinar Series titled “WFME Recognition Insight: Learn from Experiences Shared by WFME-Recognized Agencies: Best Practice in Local Context.”

This important international event provided a platform for recognized agencies to share their experiences, challenges, and best practices in implementing WFME recognition standards within their national and regional contexts.

Dr. Mahmood’s participation marks a historic achievement for Iraq, highlighting the country’s growing engagement and leadership in advancing medical education quality and accreditation on the global stage. Her contribution reflected the progress made by Iraq’s national accreditation bodies and medical colleges in aligning with international standards to ensure quality medical education for future generations.

The webinar gathered participants from around the world, offering valuable insights into how local contexts shape the application of WFME standards. Iraq’s involvement is a testament to the dedication of national stakeholders working toward continuous improvement in medical education.
