Ncamc Student Peer Awareness Campaign News

On 25 September 2025, the National Council for Accreditation of Medical Colleges (NCAMC) organised a Student Peer Awareness Campaign led by the NCAMC student representative and held at the Colleges of Medicine, University of Nineveh. The campaign aimed to raise students’ understanding of the accreditation process and their vital role in ensuring quality medical education.

The event opened with a presentation by Dr. Nazar Haddad, NCAMC member, who explained the role of students in the accreditation process, emphasizing their contribution to self-evaluation, evidence collection, and continuous improvement within medical colleges. Following this, student representatives from both colleges shared their experiences participating in self-assessment report preparation, focus group discussions, and quality improvement activities, highlighting how engagement in accreditation fosters accountability and enhances learning environments. A panel discussion moderated by Dr. Mariam Ahmed featured students from different stages who reflected on the importance of feedback, student-centered learning, and collaboration in accreditation. The event underscored that students are not just beneficiaries but active partners in achieving and sustaining accreditation, marking another step in NCAMC’s commitment to strengthening student participation across Iraqi medical colleges.
