NCAMC Meeting

On April 24th, 2025, the National Council for Accreditation of Medical Colleges gathered for an important meeting focused on the insights and outcomes from the recent National Assessors workshop. This workshop, entitled "Enhancing the Capabilities of the National Assessors Team," aimed to equip assessors with advanced skills and knowledge necessary for their critical role in evaluating medical colleges. During the meeting, council members discussed key recommendations that emerged from the workshop, emphasising the need for improved training, collaboration, and resource allocation to elevate the standards of medical education accreditation across the nation.

The meeting concluded with a comprehensive discussion addressing several key issues related to the update of evidence generation methods. Participants emphasised the need for improvements in the reporting process, particularly in how we communicate findings and engage with the Committee of Deans of Medical Colleges.

Additionally, the meeting ratified a new decision-making template proposed by the Internal Quality Assurance Committee. This innovative template is designed to streamline our processes and enhance the calculation of inter-rater reliability, ensuring consistency and accuracy in evaluations.

Moreover, there was widespread consensus on the necessity to revise the policies and procedures governing progress reports. This includes setting clear timelines to enhance accountability and transparency in reporting.

Finally, the meeting also approved the updated research line process, which aims to clarify the pathway for conducting research activities and enhance collaboration among various departments. Overall, the discussions were pivotal in aligning our strategic objectives with the current needs of our academic and research communities.
