NCAMC Compliance Visit: University of Baghdad, Alkindy College of Medicine
A five-member team from the National Council for Accreditation of Medical Colleges (NCAMC) and the National Assessment Team conducted a follow-up visit to Al-Kindi College of Medicine on February 9, 2026, in line with the Council’s policy of monitoring accredited colleges.
The team was led by Prof. Hilal Al-Saffar, Vice President of the NCAMC and the College`s Supervisor.
The visit was preceded by preparatory meetings, the development of a work plan, and a review of the progress report and supporting documents.
The visit program comprised five main components:
First: A meeting with key stakeholders. Second: A meeting with the self-study committees to assess the standards that had not yet been fulfilled. Third: Meetings with students and faculty members, along with surveys and focus group discussions, to verify the effectiveness of standard implementation. Fourth: Visits to clinical training facilities, including hospitals and health centers. Fifth: Visits to the college’s classrooms and laboratories.
At the end of the visit, a meeting was held with the dean and heads of departments. The team provided a brief overview of their evaluation of the college’s operations and offered recommendations to address identified weaknesses and support preparation for the second accreditation cycle. The meeting concluded with a mutual expression of appreciation for the efforts dedicated to advancing medical education in Iraq.
