Meeting with International Expert
On June 27th, 2024, the National Council for Accreditation of Medical Colleges in Iraq hosted a meeting with International expert and members of the advisory board, including Professor Azim Mirzazadeh from the Department of Medicine and the Department of Medical Education at the School of Medicine, TUMS.
The meeting focused on various aspects of the council during the post-recognition period and explored ways to improve and update its performance.The main requirement for a post-recognition report involves a thorough evaluation of compliance with accreditation standards, along with identifying areas for improvement. Best practices to shape the council`s strategies include engaging stakeholders—such as faculty, students, and external experts—to gather diverse perspectives; utilizing data-driven decision-making by employing metrics and feedback to inform strategic planning and prioritize quality initiatives; and implementing continuous professional development through ongoing training for council members and staff to stay current with best practices in medical education and accreditation. To enhance quality, it’s essential to set clear goals, foster a culture of accountability, and regularly assess progress, while maintaining open communication channels for ongoing feedback. evaluations to inform strategic planning and prioritize initiatives that enhance quality.
