NCAMC Panel discussion post WFME recognition
On April 15th, 2024. A panel discussion was convened by the National Council for Accreditation of Medical Colleges (NCAMC) to discuss its primary activities subsequent to receiving WFME recognition. The discussion focused on NCAMC`s future strategies for improving quality by monitoring the progress of accredited colleges through progress reports and by increasing student involvement in the accreditation process.
Preparation for ABC of self-assessment study, practical application workshop
On April 2, 2024, a representative from NCAMC met with the Deanship of the School of Medicine at the University of Kurdistan-Hawleer. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the logistics and finalize the necessary steps for the ABC self-assessment study and practical application workshop. This workshop is scheduled to be held by the end of April 2024.
Council Election
On March 7, 2024, the National Council for Accreditation of Medical Colleges convened its monthly meeting, wherein elections were conducted for the positions of council president, vice president, and rapporteur. The elections were conducted subsequent to the attainment of a quorum. Additionally, the vote considered new members from the Kurdistan region and the Ministry of Health. The policy regarding the involvement of students in the accreditation process and the mechanisms for the Follow-up/Progress report for accredited colleges (Full or Conditional) were also approved during the meeting. The planning of in-person and virtual self-assessment -report writing training courses was also addressed.
NCAMC Congratulate Mosul & Al Mustansiriya Medical Colleges
The National Council for Accreditation of Medical Colleges in Iraq congratulates the Certificate of Accreditation and Quality Assurance for the Medicine and General Surgery Program at the University of Mosul by AQACHEI. This achievement reflects the dedication and efforts made by professors and students at the university. In addition, the NCAMC congratulates the certificate that was also awarded to the General Medicine and Surgery program at Al-Mustansiriya University. This reflects the university`s commitment to providing high-quality education and professional standards. We hope this progress and excellence in medicine and surgery in Iraq will continue

NCAMC get the international recognition from WFME
The National Council for Accreditation of Medical Colleges (NCAMC) has received WFME Recognition Status for a duration of 10 years. The WFME Recognition Committee has voted and recognised the NCAMC as meeting standards that have been properly developed and implemented. The NCAMC is considered trustworthy in its policies and procedures to ensure the quality of medical education in the programmes and schools it accredits. The Recognition Status term lasts for 10 years, ending on 28 February 2034.

January 1st, 2024. The Accreditation Decision Board of the National Council for Accreditation of Medical Colleges in Iraq held a meeting to finalize the step of the accreditation process for Alkindy Medical College. The meeting last for more than 3 hours virtually to reach accreditation decision
Reinforcing The Efficiency of The National Assessors` Team

WFME Recognition Team join Accreditation Decision Meeting
The NCAMC accreditation decision board met to finalize the accreditation stages of Hawler Medical College. As part of the NCAMC recognition process, the WFME recognition team was present virtually at this meeting. This WFME recognition team attendance completes the procedures towards WFME recognition of NCAMC as the authority responsible for accrediting medical colleges in Iraq.

WFME recognition team join National Assessor Visit to Al Kindly Medical College As part of their recognition visit to the National Council for Accreditation of Medical College in Iraq, the World Federation of Medical Education (WFME) recognition team visited al Kindly College of Medicine alongside the National Assessor Team. This took place during their visit to Iraq. As part of the accreditation process, the National Assessor Team (NAT) will make a visit to Al Kindly for four days. This visit is necessary in order to gain accreditation after a term of conditional accreditation.

WFME Recognition Team visit to Iraq.The recognition team of the World Federation of Medical Education (WFME) was in Iraq from November 4th to the 9th. This visit signifies the ultimate stages in Iraq`s process of obtaining global accreditation. The visit will culminate in a series of meetings wherein the National Council for Accreditation of Medical Colleges (NCAMC) will be represented. Attending Al Kindly Medical College in the company of a Site Visit Team (SVT) will ensue.
